Obituary for Rachel White

Rachel White was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was a belovèd sister, daughter, cousin, niece, aunt, and friend. From her love of music, film, reading, culture and much more, Rachel always had excellent and eclectic taste. She often introduced those around her to music and movies, in turn changing their lives and perspectives on the world around them. Rachel had a brilliant sense of humor and often had nicknames, and jokes for her entire family! She was even referred to as "Lucy and Ethel" with her aunt Claudia.

Rachel had an unconditional love of all animals, especially cats. She worked hard to keep her cat Duchess safe and happy. She was a nurturer and looked after her cousin, nieces, and nephew. You could always talk to her about anything, and when giving matters of advice Rachel often referred to herself as "the Sensei". Rachel was very sharp of mind. She moved at rapid speed when cooking and completing many tasks.

One of her favorite songs was Golden by Jill Scott which quotes:

"I'm taking my freedom
Pulling it off the shelf
Putting it on my chain
Wear it around my neck
I'm taking my freedom
Putting it in my car
Wherever I choose to go
It will take me far
I'm livin' my life like it's golden"

We love you Rachel. We are so proud of you for what you overcame. We will always admire your hustle, political awareness, and passion. We will miss your smile, your laughter, your dirty rice and other delicious recipes, your loving spirit, and so much more. You were and always will be a daughter to us all. We will miss having collard greens with you, decorating your Christmas tree, your late night calls, and sitting around the table for a good story. May you rest in peace now and forever.

With love,
The White family
