Addie Sue Thomas was born on August 26th, 1943, to the union of Edward Liner and Annie Laura (Anthony) Liner in Pulaski, TN. Addie Sue (Liner) Thomas, 79, slipped away quietly at UIC Ingalls Memorial Hospital on May 7, 2023. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward, and Annie (Anthony) Liner, her brother, Edward Liner, Jr., and sisters Delores Drain and Annie Elizabeth Liner.
Addie graduated from Bridgeforth High School in Pulaski, TN, were she developed lifelong friendships with most of the class of 1961.
Addie was an amazing educator in Pulaski, TN She was Lead Teacher for Head Start for 13 years, and Teacher at KinderCare in Stone Mountain, GA. During her years at Head Start, she taught many of the children in her community. Those students, who are adults now, have always been amazed that her memories included their names, their family’s names and where they lived.
The one common phrase that was repeated from friends and family members as they responded to the news of her passing has been, “the Queen is gone”, “we love you so much Queen.”
Addie was an avid Seamstress and Fashionista, as well as a truly developed Seamstress and Clothing Stylist. There were always crafts, shopping, fashion, modeling, sewing, and quilting in the house. Addie loved her family, and they were always first in her thoughts.
Addie leaves to mourn her son Ivan Cathey (Michele) her daughters, Benita Chears and Pamela Chears (Kenneth Baugh). Her sister, Mary Buchanan, Her grandson, Marshawn Thrower, granddaughters, Navi Cathey and Aireus Holt; and great grandchildren, Liam Jude Flanagan, nephew Eric Buchanan, Favorite cousin Gene Anthony and along with a host of family and friends.
